My Project
My students are Super Stars! I teach the Littlest Learners in the school; PreKindergarten Special Education. My students work so hard to become independent learners through hands on, multi-sensory play. Our classroom is set up in such a way that they are not able to independently chose their own supplies, toys and materials. They often need adult support to reach bins of toys that are not in an area that they can reach.
It is my goal to engage my students with experiences within the classroom that give them the opportunity to do things on their own in order to gain a sense of independence.
I would love to provide my students with a cubby unit with bins that are accessible to all learners, despite their size or physical limitations. Filling those bins with materials to help guide them through their pre-academic program will provide my students with a sense of autonomy and the ability to choose what they want to play with as well as choose the materials they would like to work with. I want to see my Super Stars Shine!
