My Project
The students in my classroom are some of the brightest and most creative students I have ever met. They love working together in groups and being able to collaborate with each other. Their determination and love for learning inspires me every day. Collaboration is very important in our classroom. My hope is that the items in this project will help the collaboration continue to grow within our classroom.
Being able to have spaces around the classroom that allow for collaboration amongst students is so important.
In this project, I have requested a large classroom rug that will allow my students to work together in groups and have a common place where they can all sit in the classroom. A welcoming and spacious rug in an elementary school classroom is a staple piece of furniture.
Other items that have been requested in this project are various types of flexible seating. My students are able to choose where to sit in the classroom each day, and they are given the responsibility of choosing the best seat for them. Flexible seating options help my students collaborate with each other by creating comfortable spaces around the classroom. My students can work with partners and/or small groups throughout the day. These interactions help my students learn communication skills and other social skills.
The addition of a large classroom rug, stools, and floor cushions will be greatly appreciated by my students as they grow in their learning together.
