Help me give my students an expanded indoor gardening experience to deepen their science learning, build real-world responsibility, and celebrate the joy of growing their own food and flowers.
Help me give my students the opportunity to deepen their hands-on learning with an expanded indoor gardening experience! Thanks to a generous previous donation, we already have a RISE Garden set up in our classroom. Now, we are ready to take our garden to the next level with new plants, supplies, and learning materials.
With your support, we will grow strawberries, cauliflower, microgreens, peas, and beautiful flowering plants like Heartbreakers Orange Dora and Vicenza Blue Apex Lavender.
Students will use a nursery kit, a trellis system, and nutrients to extend their gardening skills and apply real-world science concepts like plant biology, environmental responsibility, and sustainability.
To connect our experiences to literacy and history, we will read First Peas to the Table and GROW: How We Get Food from Our Garden, inspiring students to think about gardening as both a science and a part of everyday life.
Expanding our garden will allow students to explore more complex plant care, observe different growth patterns, and gain a deeper understanding of where our food comes from. This project will also continue to build responsibility, patience, teamwork, and pride as they work together to nurture living things in our classroom.
Thank you for helping us continue this incredible learning journey — and for helping our students bloom!
