My Students

Welcome to our Reading Lab! Working together with classroom teachers the reading lab at our school provides reading intervention to over 200 students each day. We work to help students increase their reading fluency, comprehension, phonics skills, and most importantly see themselves as readers and learn to love to read! As the reading interventionist at our school I work closely with instructional assistants and classroom teachers to help as many kids as possible become avid and confident readers.

Becoming a strong reader is a gift that last a lifetime.

My students need real texts that align to our intervention curriculum and materials that create high engagement and increase time spent reading in intervention. Giving to our project will give hundreds of students chances to learn to be strong readers.

My Project

Teaching kindergarteners to read is an exciting and challenging task. We are lucky enough to have access to strong intervention materials that provide specific phonics instruction to our students.

To build and strengthen our intervention program, our students need real books that align to our intervention materials.

BOB books are perfect for kindergarten readers! Students that I teach in intervention are the most struggling students at our school. They often have limited access to books at home, especially at their level. By providing them with BOB books we will be able to give them chances to truly see themselves as readers and grow a love of reading in them each day.
