I teach in a high poverty/high needs, urban, Cincinnati school. My students are amazing, wonderful kids! Many of them are lacking life experiences other kids have that make them successful in school. School is a break from their tough life at home. We are working hard to ensure that our kids get hands-on, engaging learning when at school, and have resources they need when at home. They are fed, safe, and feel loved at our school. In the past, we have been given many community supplies; however, we must now learn how to make a great environment for our students in the fall that will allow learning while being germ conscience.
My kids thrive when they are able to be active, hands-on learners.
They love to talk, sing and dance. They work best when they are comfortable and feel like they are in control. I enjoy each day with my incredible students!
My Project
My students will be able to have expo markers, play doh, and other organized materials at home to use while following me in Google Meets. We will grow our plants at school, but they will be able to see them each day as I teach from the classroom. When we come back to school in October, we will have fun sharing what we learned! I will use my Cricut cutter to make masks with letters and words of the day, so every time they look at me, they will be reminded of our daily learning!
