My Social Emotional Learning Project
What I love most about my students is their incredible potential—not just as learners, but as kind, thoughtful, and resilient human beings.
Each child brings a unique personality, story, and strength into the classroom. What inspires me daily is their capacity to care for one another, to grow through challenges, and to become more aware of themselves and the world around them. Helping them develop their social and emotional skills is not just a part of education—it’s at the heart of it.
This project is designed to support students in building essential skills like empathy, self-regulation, responsible decision-making, and relationship-building. Through intentional SEL resources, students will have the opportunity to explore their emotions, express themselves in healthy ways, and develop strategies for managing stress and conflict.
The resources included—such as interactive journals, SEL storybooks, calming tools, and collaborative games—are thoughtfully chosen to meet students where they are emotionally and developmentally. Journals provide a safe space for self-reflection and emotional processing. Storybooks open the door for conversations about feelings, friendship, and making good choices. Calming tools help students self-regulate when overwhelmed, while games promote teamwork and respectful communication.
These tools helps students not only understand their own emotions, but also recognize and respect the emotions of others. With these supports in place, my students will not only become stronger learners, but also more compassionate and confident individuals.
