My Project

Learning about plants has been a hot topic in third grade over the past couple of years. I really love sending students home with their own plants to care for but the cost of supplies can get really high. I am asking for funds to support more planting and learning in our classroom. They will learn about propagation and how different care or environments affect plant growth.

Many students do not have access to green spaces that they can call their own to grow plants, I want to be able to give them a chance to have a little bit of hands-on learning, to get their hands dirty, and then enjoy the fruits of their labors!

The soil, planting trays, and plant pots will allow me to give pieces of our classroom plants to the kids to keep.

As a service learning project, we have made a connection with a local assisted living home. We root and grow plants to donate to the residents to brighten up their living space. We send the plants cards once a year. These supplies would also benefit our community. I appreciate any donation towards this goal!
