Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our special education classroom, we're nurturing curiosity and environmental awareness through a hands-on project called Growing Green Thinkers. This project will help my students explore the basics of climate, sustainability, and life science in an interactive, accessible way. With a hydroponic garden, a fish bowl for observing aquatic ecosystems, seeds for planting, and visual aids like plant posters, students will experience the science of how things grow and how living systems work together. These materials will not only build science knowledge but also support sensory learning, fine motor development, and critical thinking skills. By caring for plants and animals in the classroom, my students will learn responsibility, teamwork, and the importance of protecting our planet—one green thinker at a time.
