Growing Green Thinkers: Learning in Our School Garden
Help me give my students a compost bin and a garden bulletin board to learn about composting, sustainability, and to proudly display what they’re growing and learning in our school garden.
My students are curious, hands-on learners who thrive when given opportunities to explore the natural world around them. Our school garden is a place of discovery, teamwork, and pride. For many of my students, this garden is their first real experience planting, tending, and harvesting living things. They love digging in the soil, observing changes, and asking thoughtful questions about nature and how it works.
They are enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the environment—and with your help, they can take their learning even further!
This project will provide our outdoor garden with a compost bin and a bulletin board for our school garden. The compost bin will allow students to learn firsthand how food and garden scraps can be transformed into nutrient-rich soil. They’ll learn science concepts like decomposition, the nutrient cycle, and how composting reduces landfill waste and benefits the Earth.
The outdoor bulletin board will give students a place to display their observations, garden updates, artwork, and research about composting and sustainability. It will serve as a learning hub and point of pride for our school community.
Together, these additions will help students become more environmentally conscious citizens.
