Our students are passionate, curious learners eager to explore the world around them. To help them better understand the environment and climate change, we are launching a hands-on project that brings science to life in creative, meaningful ways. We will use basic art supplies, and interactive activities to teach students about plant life, ecosystems, and the importance of protecting our planet.
Students will plant grass in recycled sushi trays, learning about plant life cycles, soil health, and the role of plants in reducing carbon dioxide and improving air quality.
We'll use laminating sheets to build small greenhouses. These mini-ecosystems will help students observe how the greenhouse effect works—on a scale they can see and understand. With modeling clay, students will create models of plants, trees, and flowers—each representing different biomes and environmental conditions. This tactile activity helps them understand plant diversity and adaptation, while also encouraging creative expression. Drawing and painting activities will let students express their understanding of the climate and environment. They'll create posters about recycling, water conservation, and renewable energy—turning science into messages of hope and action.them a real-world look at how green spaces help our climate.
