My students are enthusiastic and curious English learners who want to learn English and be engaged and challenged on a daily basis. They speak Spanish and Somali at home, and they are learning English at school. My students come to school with different life experiences, but they are all very eager to learn, no matter how difficult it is for them to learn in a language they haven't yet mastered. They bring a lot of knowledge to our class, and they're very excited to share it!
My Project
My students are learning English as a second or third language. A lot of them are recent immigrants to the U.S., and they don't have digital devices at home. Being a high school student involves writing essays on Google docs, collaborating with other students online, conducting research, and creating multimedia presentations demonstrating their learning. With these Chromebooks, my EL students will be able to work in groups or individually and utilize web-based resources to complete projects, participate in on-line quizzes, conduct research, write on the class blog, and complete essays for English class. Your donation will impact my students' lives by increasing their academic achievement while also providing them with the skills necessary in the 21st century. My students deserve to use the most up-to-date technology available, so please consider making a difference in my classroom by donating!
