Growing Classes Means More Equipment!

My students need additional tennis rackets, tennis nets, and tennis balls to keep more students moving because of bigger class sizes.

My Students

My students are exciting, curious, adventurous, and always ready for new activities.

Our school is a Title I school with a high percentage of students receiving free to reduced lunch.

My students have a variety of backgrounds. Some come from loving homes and supportive parents, while some of my students come from low income, one parent households. Some of them finish elementary school without ever having the opportunity to play sports outside the school. I am always looking for ways to introduce my students to new and different ways to be physically active.

My Project

My students would love to have additional tennis equipment to supplement what we already have. Our class sizes have grown and with that comes the need to share equipment. I like to have as many students moving as possible at one time, with very few sitting still.

Tennis is one of my classes' favorite activities because it is something new and different for them.

There are not a lot of opportunities for my low income students to be involved in tennis. Now that my class sizes are bigger, it has become more difficult for my students to enjoy tennis. My students suggested asking for new tennis equipment so we can play more and sit less. Adding additional rackets and nets will allow me to set up 5 mini courts at a time and have up to 20 students playing tennis all at once. We can have all the rackets being used during skill practice.
