This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my first year of teaching, I had the pleasure of growing fruits and vegetables in a Tower Garden with my class. It was very impactful in my first class, and now I want to bring it to my current school for all students to learn from.
This Tower Garden will teach all of our school's students responsibility for building, growing, maintaining, and farming a garden!
For many students in our school, this will be their first exposure to gardens. For other students, this project will inspire them to learn more on their own about plants and gardeners, while a few might just pursue a career in horticulture.
Giving our school a Tower Garden will give students the responsibility to grow fruits and vegetables, harvest them, and improve their health habits by taking pride in eating the plants they grew!
