Our school is part of a rural community in a low income county of Missouri.

The kids love to show pride of their school and community. They love to work for what they have and what they want - a strong work ethic is necessary to succeed and it has been passed down from generation to generation to do that.

My Project

Students will use this greenhouse to produce their own produce successfully. Instead of reading how to grow plants out of a textbook, students will be actively engaged by using hands-on activities to actually grow plants on their own. They will learn chemical applications and fertilizer treatments that pertain to certain garden and landscape plants.

This project will give my students the ability to learn hands-on rather than textbook and notes all the time.

Students will finally be able to have that great opportunity since the soil in our community is not that great for a growing medium.
