My students are hands-on learners who thrive when given the opportunity to explore and create. They are passionate about nature and love projects that allow them to connect what they learn in the classroom to their lives at home. Many of them take pride in sharing their learning experiences with their families, and this project will give them the chance to do just that while nurturing their interest in gardening and sustainability.
I am requesting supplies for each student to create their own herb garden to take home and share with their families.
We will be planting a variety of herbs, including basil, chives, green onions, and rosemary, which students can grow at home to use in their kitchens and share with their families.
This project will teach my students about the importance of plants, how to care for them, and the role herbs can play in cooking and healthy eating. Each student will receive their own planter, soil, and seeds, which they will care for throughout the growing process. They will learn responsibility and patience as they nurture their herb gardens, while also gaining practical knowledge of sustainability and self-sufficiency.
