This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Young children are naturally curious, and a hydroponic garden will provide an exciting, hands-on way for kindergarteners to explore science, nature, and sustainability. At this age, students learn best through active engagement, and watching plants grow without soil will spark their curiosity about the world around them. They will see firsthand how water, light, and nutrients work together to support plant life, laying the foundation for early STEM learning. This project will also teach responsibility, as students help care for the plants, fostering patience and an appreciation for nature.

Adding a camera to track plant growth will enhance their learning by allowing them to observe and compare changes over time.

Since young learners may not always notice small daily differences, a time-lapse recording will help them visually understand plant development in a fun and interactive way. This will encourage discussions, predictions, and excitement about the growing process. By incorporating technology into this project, we can introduce early observation and data collection skills, making science more accessible and engaging for our youngest learners.
