My students need a variety of outdoor materials to use during activities while we rebuild our outdoor lab. We need basic plant growing kits, and create your own sets.
Imagine what your life would be like if you never enjoyed the outdoors. Imagine if you never observed nature and took in it's calming effects. This is the challenge facing my students. They rarely go outside and discover nature, observe it's beauty, or appreciate it's bounty.
My students live in a vary rural, low socioeconomic region of Indiana.
Most of the local factories have moved out of town, taking many families with them. The children that are left behind rarely have the opportunity to enjoy nature. The opportunity to engage in meaningful activities is very important to their future. We are going to re-establish an outdoor lab that includes a nature trail, a dinosaur dig, and a wetland area. Children will create suncatchers, hats, birdhouses, as well as enjoy scavenger hunts outdoors.
My Project
These environmental activities will change these students lives by exposing them to nature in a way that they otherwise would not have gotten. The students will learn about nature, the environment, life science, and earth science. They will engage in activities outdoors, work in the community garden, raise pumpkins in the pumpkin patch, create a compost garden, and bird watch during our outdoor lab activities. These would not be possible without this project donation.
Please commit to this worthwhile project and make an impact on these children.
Without your help, they will not have the opportunity to create the garden, the nature trail, or the marsh area. These outdoor lab areas will bring environment awareness to these students and may change the world a classroom at a time.
