My Project
My students are mostly English Learners that struggled last year with online learning, and continue to struggle this year because of the difficulty in communicating with their classmates due to COVID restrictions.
These resources will allow us to read books where the main character has to deal with the impacts of COVID and the disruptions to their life.
It will afford my students the opportunity to discuss these stories, as well as our personal stories over the last two years, with our classmates. The games and building supplies will let us work in groups to do engineering and STEM challenges in class, but all to choose practice social skills again: talking, taking turns, making new friends.
Lastly, the writing supplies will allow us to get back into the habit of writing. And to help students who don't have basic school supplies at home to be able to complete all of their work and not get behind the rest of their classmates.
