Gross and Fine Motor Skills

Help me give my students the opportunity to work on large and fine motor skills in our classroom by using the large step stool to practice safely stepping up and down.

My Project

Our students enjoy movement time, dancing and imitating movements. A lot of the students are working on steps. We want to make it more engaging by using the step stool to step up and down while getting a reinforcement such as choosing songs and blowing bubbles. A smaller stool is needed in the bathroom for easier access to the sink to practice washing hands.

In addition to movement time, the students also enjoy art and fine motor activities.

We have a work time for the students to work cognitive and fine motor goals. "Put in" activities are used during this time. The fish bowl game, dot markers, putty and shape sorter will be used as a fun way to work on these goals.

The plastic storage drawers would be helpful to organize the classroom better and to make items more accessible.
