Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the years we have been blessed to have multiple projects funded that helped build our orchestra of xylophones in the music room. We now proudly boast TEN pitched percussion instruments that students can use to explore, improvise, perform and compose high quality music. Now we have to take care of our instruments and ensure that we can keep using them for many years more.

Rolling carts for our xylophones will help extend the life of our instruments and enhance the quality of our musicianship as well!

As it is, we sit down to play the majority of our instruments, which means stooped shoulders. Sometimes that can lead to improper technique which could result in scratched bars and bent pins. Additionally, the carts have wheels so we can wheel them around the music room so I won't need to personally lift a 50 pound $2000 instrument over and around kids heads, feet and fingers. Student will be able to rotate instruments without needing to move themselves and possibly trip over an instrument. In short, these carts will elevate our instrument use!

This project is part two, a duplicate of the first, in order to provide a cart for each of our instruments. Thank you!
