Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in grades 6-12 and reside in the inner-city, overcoming tremendous obstacles to make school a priority and maintain their youth.
As the School Social Worker, I am honored to walk along side my students during challenges, to bear witness to their resilience and hope!
My Project
Obtaining certification as a Grief Educator will provide me with more skills and strategies to walk along my students during their grief journey. So many of my students are experiencing the death or loss of a loved one without any support, or opportunity to heal and cope.
My time devoted to this topic with a renowned Grief Expert, David Kessler will give me the tools and confidence to help my students navigate their grief.
My students will benefit by not being alone in this process, as I will be able to work with students one on one and in groups.
