My Project
We are requesting support in the form of garden soil and grow bags to establish a student-led garden project that will serve as both an educational tool and a community resource. Our vision is to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities around agriculture, sustainability, and food systems, while also using the food grown to stock a local pantry for families in need.
This garden project will be integrated into the school’s science and life skills curriculum, allowing students to learn about plant biology, environmental responsibility, and the importance of food security.
Students will be responsible for preparing the grow bags, planting seeds, maintaining the garden, and harvesting crops. In doing so, they will develop important life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Once crops are harvested, fresh fruits and vegetables will be distributed to our surrounding community through a school-hosted food pantry. This initiative addresses both educational and social-emotional needs, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and community engagement among our students.
