it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, I know the challenges my students face both in and out of the classroom every day. As a teacher in an elementary school with the highest number of bilingual learners in our school district, I also know that opportunity helps my students communicate beyond words.
Opportunity empowers my students to strive for excellence on a daily basis.
My students are hardworking agents of change who are always willing to be challenged. They seek knowledge both in and out of the classroom and strive for excellence every day. They are role models for one another and despite every obstacle and challenge, they persist and exceed my highest expectations. Our students are the leaders our school community needs to enact positive change.
My Project
Recently, our school received a grant to bring new technology into the classrooms of grade 6-8 students and all teachers that service these grade levels. Every student will receive an iPad to use during class which they can take home to complete homework and projects as needed. Students are also encouraged to use these amazing resources in new ways - to create videos, produce online journals, access and read new novels, and more.
In this project, I am asking to get a Green Screen and Green Screen tools so that our students can have access to quality film equipment.
This Green Screen will be available to students before, during and after school so that they can embark on new journeys through media technology. Students will work collaboratively with students and teachers to create, film and share their new projects with our school community. Students will also have the ability to submit their created projects to district and state film competitions.
