My Students
Green Architecture is a project-based class where 6th - 8th-grade students start with a problem and through the design process, come up with a solution to build.
Today’s students have grown up in an age of “green” choices.
In the Green Architecture (GA) unit, students learn
how to apply this concept to the fields of architecture and construction by exploring dimensioning, measuring,
and architectural sustainability as they design affordable housing units using Autodesk® 123D® Design software.
My Project
Through the design process, she designed and built a key holder with a shelve from recycled material.
Another student had a lot of pictures but no way to show them off.
She created a hanging frame with bulldog clips and is able to display her pictures and rotate them out.
One student learned how to play the guitar through Youtube. He wanted to get a guitar stand to store his guitar, but his mom said that it was too expensive to purchase. This student-designed and built an amazing guitar stand.
With having multiple Dewalt drills, students would be able to complete their project without having to wait to use the one drill we have. Also, with a storage tool cabinet, I would be able to roll the tool cabinet out to where the students are working and not have to go with the student and unlock the storeroom where I currently have the supplies. This takes away me helping the students and supervising.
