Greek Mythology With Epson Technology

My students need an Epson LCD projector so they can view educational videos and listen to broadcasts from their iPad.

My Students

Our motto is "Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader." We strive to teach all of our students that their voice makes a difference in our world. What our students learn today will stay with them throughout their lives. Technology is the hands-on learning tool for our newest generation of learners.

My K-5th grade, Title I public school is in a rural area located a few miles from the beautiful coast of NC.

We serve many English as a second language students. As in most rural communities, jobs are scarce and money is tight. With state-wide district cuts we must make the most of our supplies. My 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade academically gifted students are very aware of their coastal surroundings and work towards keeping their community environmentally clean for the abundant wildlife and natural resources. They recycle for the entire school weekly and want to learn about energy conversation. Technology is something missing in many of their homes, mainly because we are in a rural area. My students come to school expecting the latest in educational technology.

My Project

My students need an Epson projector to further their studies in Greek mythology. We have been learning about the Greek gods and goddesses in our classroom. We have made trading cards of our favorites and have read the different myths appropriate for each grade level in my room. What my students are lacking is seeing the many videos that are available through Discovery Streaming Videos for schools and other online activities that bring Greek mythology to life for students. With this Epson projector, I can project Greek Mythology videos to an area in our classroom that can be seen by all students. I will be able to pause and have discussions about these myths at appropriate times. This technology will bring the Greek myths to life for my students.

We are asking more of our students than we ever have before.

Having a well rounded education is important and having the right tools for this education is essential. Please help my students by opening up the Internet for their classroom learning.
