My Students

Can you remember what it was like when you started school for the first time? I teach Kindergarten and it is the first time many of the 4 and 5-year-olds are away from their parents. We need to make it a place they want to come to. I have 20 students who come from a low economic situation so the little extras are hard to come by.

We know the use of manipulatives is the key to success!

My students are learning to work cooperatively and knowing they need to share while they learn. They are like little sponges soaking it all in. I want it to be fun while they are learning!

My Project

All students do not learn the same way, not all students are visual learners. The student that needs to touch while learning will have the opportunity as they learn the alphabet using the sandpaper letters.

We expect our students to think critically, and with the building gears, their imagination is the only limit to what they can do.

The use of the model of the flower will enhance the student learning as the instruction of living things and growing plants in class are conducted during the school year and can be compared to real plants being brought into the classroom.
