My Students

The number of students in my class can range from 90 to 110 total. I have 3 classes of 5th grades.

My classes are comprised of a diverse group of students from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Each of them is unique and special. They are hard working students, who love to learn and have a love of reading.

My students really enjoy working together and helping one another learn and understand the content. Group work is their favorite way to learn.

My Project

My classroom is on the small side. We currently have flattop desks which are great but with thirty 5th graders it gets a little cramped and there are not many ways to move the furniture around to accommodate group work and individual work.

Having these small desks would make it easier to transition from small group work to individual work, and give a lot more flexibility for the students.

They could be easily turned to give privacy or to allow discussion, whichever is needed at the time.

These desks would also take up a lot less space in the room. This would give the students the ability to move around more which is much needed at this age.
