My Project
My school will have 75 culinary students learning how to cook and bake like a professional chef. We plan on not only cooking in our 43 year old kitchen, we also plan on competing in local and state food competitions. It is my dream to develop a passion for cooking with my students.
The saying, look the part, act the part is so much more than just words when teaching students how to properly cook.
The chef jackets help to keep their arms covered and protected from possible kitchen injuries.
With the instruction of a professionally trained chef, the students will learn how to become a chef by practicing safe knife skills, food safety, and preparing foods using a variety of cooking techniques.
This class will be preparing middle school students to enter high school with enough knowledge, experience, and confidence to join the existing culinary program and be on their way to becoming a professional chef.
There are many events that our culinary students will be involved in this next year. The students will be in food competitions such as a chili cook off and the build-a-gingerbread house challenge. They will also be catering for in-house school events. Our students will be delivering cookie grams to the staff and teachers. Students will take raw products and create amazing master pieces. They will learn how to not only cook the foods, but package, market, and deliver the finished products.
