My Students

My fifth-grade students are very eager to learn and are inspired by great literature. Our class is part of an Advanced Learning Program. The purpose of this program is to meet the needs of students who learn at a faster pace than most students.

One of the challenges of teaching students who learn quickly is keeping up with their constant demand for new learning materials and resources.

I look forward to many opportunities in our class for rich conversations about literature. My students love expressing connections to what they read.

I am always looking for new ways to reach the needs of my students and challenge them in hopes of making learning unique and memorable. My favorite quality of my students is their passion and excitement for learning.

My Project

We are studying about authors and their own life stories as a basis for language arts in my class. These books that I have selected are written by authors that we study in class. After reading the author's autobiography, we will read these books by the spotlighted authors and they will get to keep a copy for their own personal collection.

These books will be memorable pieces of literature that they can read again and again.

These four books for each student will be a great gift of learning that will help them always remember our class. Great books will inspire great minds.
