This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school. We are a school with a large concentration of low-income students. The number of low-income students is determined by the number of students enrolled in the free or reduced-price lunch program. Most of my students get free breakfast and lunch. My students come from families who are struggling to put food on the table let alone all the extras kids want and should have.
My school has about an 85% poverty rate, and my students are so grateful for all the supplies and extras donated.
Thank you for any and all help!
My Project
I will use these gravity wells to help students to experience gravity and see what affects it.
Students will be able to play with the different factors that influence gravity.
This takes gravity from something they learn about in a book to something they can see, touch and play with. Since most of my students are English Language Learners it is very difficult for them to visualize concepts. This is why it is so important that they be able to see it in action and be able to experiment with it hands on.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
