My Students
VHHS is a small, tight-knit, rural community in South Dakota. Our local school is small, averaging class sizes of about 25-30 students. We have just started a new wrestling program full of wrestlers who have NEVER competed in wrestling before. I commend these kids for taking the leap and doing a sport they have no experience with. They are hard working and motivated kids who deserve all of the support in the world.
These young men has worked through a hard year and I commend them for their perseverance, dedication, hard-work, and passion.
These men are the starting point for a long and successful wrestling program at our school.
My Project
Our team is full of kids who have never wrestled before and my goal is to help them grown and develop into young successful wrestlers. Two areas of focus are our strength and technique, especially when performing throws. The grappling dummy will allow my kids to practice proper and aggressive technique without the fear of harming their teammate. I want to be able to build that strength and mental fitness to enable them to succeed when they wrestle.
My kids have taken the leap to do a sport they have never done before and I commend them for that leap of faith.
They have been humbled by this sport but they have a drive to be successful. I hope that you consider our project and help supply these boys with the tools of success. Thank you for your consideration!
