Graphing Calculators For Those In Need

My students need 5 graphing calculators to see how mathematics and technology can combine to further their learning experience.

My Students

Many of our students cannot afford graphing calculators, so they will not have the opportunity to ever see how technology can enhance their learning in Advanced Algebra.

Many of our students come from split families or families with both parents working.

The small town atmosphere is sometimes beneficial in not letting too many students slip through the cracks but doesn't always have enough job opportunities in these difficult economic times. Therefore there are financial struggles.

My Project

These five graphing calculators will give the students a chance to see how technology takes the information they learn about in class and expand upon it to analyze more difficult problems. Watching technology complete the same processes that they learn about helps solidify their understanding.

Some students will not have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of technology, unless it is available to them in the classroom.

Their financial situations do not allow for these useful extras.
