Help me give my students graphing calculators to prepare them for the upcoming Regents exams. I teach kids who have difficulty in buying this expensive calculator which is a great tool for them to ace the exams.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Good Morning!
I am a High school Math Teacher teaching in NYC.
I have been a DoE employee for a while but always have difficulty in asking the students to get this graphing calculator as it is expensive for some students. But I believe it will add value to them throughout the year in doing their classwork and also in getting ready for the Regents exam.
Recently, my colleague Ms. Y helped me set this up and through your generous donations I was able to secure 4 calculators. I am grateful for getting them as they can now graph linear, quadratic, absolute value, exponential function just like that and able to graph them using the table and looking at the graphs.
As you could imagine, I need more calculators. I am submitting my request of 6 calculators this time and slowly build a class set so each and every one of my students will have access to this calculator.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity, taking the time out to read my projects and helping us out. Thank you.
