Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students at my two schools love checking books out of the library. They also love graphic novels. Graphic novels have a way of inspiring reluctant readers.
Many of the students at the schools I work at are reading below grade level.
A graphic novel breaks up the text and has appealing graphics. For struggling readers, this helps them not feel so overwhelmed and lets them feel a sense of accomplishment when they can read a library book.
Graphic novels are in high demand at my libraries and we need more. Please consider helping supply graphic novels to my students!
