Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our small school has been deeply impacted by the lack of in-person academic and social connections. Most, if not all, of our students have stated the lasting impact of not being in the classroom. Mostly due to lack of social connections and academic discourse with their peers and teachers. This is compounded in the Social Studies classroom which relies heavily on discussion, clarification and engagement. This project around graphic novels increasing literacy skills, visualizing history, creating artistic and historic connections and heightening conversation skills. Students will read, learn as well as create their own graphic novels.
