Help me give my students books that are of high interest and appropriate reading level! Graphic novels are so helpful in getting "reluctant readers" engaged in reading!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Daum's classroom raised $627

My Students
I teach a Title 1 Reading class. Many of my students struggle to find reading material that they can relate to that is at a level they can enjoy and comprehend. They are awesome students from challenging backgrounds that just need support and reading material they enjoy!
My Project
If my project is funded I will use these books in my class to encourage my Title 1 students to read! Title 1 students have socio-economic struggles that result in needing more help in reading and/or math. Often if a student struggles with reading they may connect best with a book written by/about/for someone more like them, someone they can directly relate to. Graphic novels especially help with this because the students can SEE that this person looks like them or has a home life like theirs. Graphic novels also help students to better understand the content of the story as supported by the pictures.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
