This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a place where students love exploring new things! They don't have much, but they have energy and excitement. This year I noticed my class started taking an interest in graphic novels, which are books that use a lot of visuals-like comic books!

Graphic novels are a great way for more visual students to enjoy reading!

I have always thought that there was no such thing as a student who didn't like to read, only children who hadn't met the right book. I am so excited to have found a different way to help my students love reading.

I will use these series of graphic novels to introduce my students to a new way of looking at books. I can't wait to see their faces when we add them to our classroom library.
