My Project
Graphic novels are even more engaging and rigorous than regular novels because of the numerous reading skills that a student must tap into in order to comprehend them. The most reluctant of readers have become hooked on books as a result of reading just one graphic novel.
The young adult brain lights up in numerous areas when reading a graphic novel because of the level of comprehension it requires.
Students have to use the pictures as well as the context clues in the written portion in order to understand the plot of a graphic novel. This level of thinking is not easy to do, but when presented in the form of a graphic novel, kids have immediate success.
