Graphic Novel Library Collection

My Project

The previous project I posted, the Usagi Yojimbo graphic novel collection, has sparked an interest in graphic novels among my students. Many students who would not ordinarily read like these, so I would like to provide some more variety for them.

For this reason, I have selected the graphic novel series Bone by Jeff Smith to add to the school library.

The series is well written and similar in some ways to Usagi Yojimbo, so I think it will be good for my students. I like that it teaches themes of heroism and doing the right thing. Bone is a character that my students will have an easy time relating to.

My students are a good group of kids that just happen to live in the middle of nowhere and don't have access to a lot of things other places may take for granted. I want to provide them with opportunities to experience things they probably wouldn't be able to otherwise. I think that the themes of this book series, and the inspiration it inspires, will be great for my students. Please help me provide this opportunity for them.
