My Project

My middle school special education students are trying hard to fit in with the rest of the school. One of the easy ways to do this is to read the same type of books as their peers.

My students need graphic novels to read!

Having graphic novels like the Percy Jackson series, which our 6th-grade students read in the gen ed ELA class, makes them feel included. They are asking to read these books. We also need books that have low readability, like Kingston and the Magic Stone or The Noise Down the Lane, which will allow those who are just learning to read to also have a chapter book with them.
