Graphic Designing and Tech Trouble Shooting From a Distance

My Students

This pandemic is increasing the gap between the haves and the have-nots. Pershing is an incredibly diverse middle school grades 6-8. It's been a crazy ride since March 13th when we were told to go home and take an extra week for spring break. It's now May 26th and there seems no end in sight.

I meet with my students using Teams.

I share my screen and teach and they share their screens and demonstrate - that is if they have a screen. I also support teachers as they are teaching on line. I am so impressed with our students and our teachers as we take this unexplored journey together.

My Project

My students are amazing. Even in this time of sudden distance learning, they continue to show up and meet me to learn and grow. However, my teaching and their learning will be elevated with a webcam and graphics tablet. I teach graphic design and technology trouble shooting.

This project will provide a webcam and graphics tablet to better connect with my students for distance learning as my current laptop camera isn't up for the challenge.

The graphics pad and webcam will continue to be useful in the classroom once we are back. I plan to set up a webcam with a microphone so students can create their own podcasts for tech support. The graphics pad will be used by my more experienced graphic design students to gain experience with more sophisticated tools.
