My Project
I absolutely love how resilient, curious, and eager my students are to grow as learners every day. They come to class ready to tackle challenges, work together, and push themselves to achieve their best. However, sitting in traditional desks all day can make it difficult for some students to focus, stay engaged, and manage their behavior appropriately.
The stools I’m requesting will give my students an opportunity to move while they work, helping them stay focused, comfortable, and in control of their behavior.
These stools allow for gentle movement, which is especially helpful for students who need to release extra energy or adjust their seating choice to meet their learning needs. By adding flexible seating, I can better support students as they learn to recognize and modify their behavior in response to situational demands, such as group work, independent study, or focused instruction.
This project aligns with SP.PK12.DH.5.3, as it encourages students to use appropriate behavior and modify their actions based on their environment and task. Flexible seating gives them the freedom to make choices about where and how they learn best, helping them develop self-awareness, self-regulation, and responsibility.
What makes my students so special is their drive to succeed and their willingness to grow. With these stools, they will have a resource that not only supports their physical needs but also empowers them to manage their behavior and become more focused, confident, and engaged learners.
