I am the media specialist at a separate school in South Carolina that serves students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities. The students at my school range from ages three to twenty-one. In addition to their intellectual disabilities, many of the students also face other challenges including physical and autism.
My students come from all walks of life and every day holds something new.
At my school we have learned to appreciate the little accomplishments. I am grateful that I have the privilege to work with my students.
My Project
Our school is small and we do not have the parent involvement or revenue stream that some of the other schools do. Due to the nature of our students, they require a lot of equipment and technology. This equipment and technology can be expensive. To go on a field trip many classes have to take multiple buses because of wheel chairs.
Knowing how to write grants and where to find funding sources will give me the ability to help my school find the funding needed for equipment, technology, supplies, and field trips.
Thank you in advance for your donations. We are extremely grateful.
