it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are part of a fantastic school. They come from various cultural backgrounds and languages, creating a truly unique and diverse classroom. Many of them lack access to technology in the home, which motivates us to provide these tools for our students even more. They are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, inquiring minds who rise to any academic challenge presented to them.
Our school is a family of teachers, supporting staff, and learners who truly care about one another and work together to deliver the best for each and every one of our students.
These students are members of a Title I urban school in Richmond, CA, a school where all students qualify for the free breakfast and free lunch program.
My Project
I would like to expand my first-grade classroom's STEM curriculum. We would like to add two Wonder Dash robots, two Samsung Galaxy tablets and cases for them. In addition, we would like to store and move these gadgets in a mobile cart. My students selected Dash after we carefully reviewed other options. Currently, during our STEM time, my students have been reading about robotics and have reached out to me to see if we can get a couple of the Dash robots so that they can learn to program robots. My students are excited about having not one, but two Dash robots as part of the classroom's STEM time.
The addition of the two robots, two tablets, and a cart will allow my students to get hands-on experience coding with robots.
I know that my students are eager to learn to code and program robots. The addition of two Dash robots will have a great impact on our STEM time in our classroom.
