My project needs a digital camera, a photo printer, photo paper and additional printer ink cartridges.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Fong's classroom raised $466
This project is fully funded
I work with kindergarteners in a small urban elementary school. We have a diverse community of learners coming from a variety of family backgrounds. We are different but we are the same. We spend the year learning together about each other.
I work with kindergarteners. At their young age, everything is tactile and visual. They blossom when they know that someone is noticing how hard they are working or trying to complete a project. We also put on a number of impromptu plays using the current reading story or theme. The "clowns" and "drama queens" have a field day putting their efforts into portraying the story. My english language learners also learn location prepositions and vocabulary through acting out particular parts of stories. We have acted out the Three Billy Goats Gruff and "Who's that tramping over my bridge?".
To create long-lasting memories of these experiences, I would like to request funding to pay for a digital camera, a printer, extra paper and ink. The digital camera would allow me to take photos to post of students "caught" doing their best work. I can't always be everywhere but I can pop up at unexpected moments to catch them as they work cooperatively with a friend or as he/she is making measurements using the cubes. I can also use the movie function on the camera to film their acting debuts and then playback our production using connecting cables to the television in our classroom.
You can help us build our community of learners by funding this proposal. Our students love to show off. Let's give them a chance to be caught in the act of their best work and be able to show everyone else how he/she shined that day in school. Students who embrace the love of learning at this young age continue to want to learn for many years to come.
