My students need math activities like Magna-Tiles and fluency puzzles to either enrich their current math skills, or activities to increase their skill level in various areas of math and logical thinking.
My students are excited and engaged in math! I would love to foster that growth mindset by providing my students with math enrichment and review activities that will only increase their love for math and problem solving.
My students are AMAZING!
They are excited to learn each day, which just engages me, as the teacher, even more! My students love solving math problems. They work alone, or synergize with partners, or with a group, to apply logical thinking skills to solve various types of story problems, or just simple addition and subtraction type problems. It would be great to provide my students with activities that offer authentic type lessons, with real world math applications.
Our school has an amazing support staff. The parents, teachers, other staff members, and the PTA, work collaboratively to make a difference in the lives of students each day.
My Project
I am requesting various math activities to enrich or support our current math curriculum. I will use these materials in a variety of ways. For those students whose skills need to be enriched, they will be able to use the Magna-Tiles or the Real-World Math Problem Solving Kits to enhance their logical thinking and problem solving skills. For my students that need a little more support and practice mastering specific math skills, I would like to engage them by playing games in the Math Folder Games Library or using the Math Fluency Puzzles in order to target the math concepts that they specifically need help with.
I will also use the Math Instant Learning Centers during our "Math Flex Time." Each day, our school has a 30 minute block of time that allows teachers to reteach or enrich groups of students. These math activities would be the perfect means to support this important time in our school day!
Donations of these math games and activities will greatly improve my classroom!
Utilizing activities to learn such as games, building activities, and authentic learning experiences, greatly enhances the engagement of students. If my students are engaged, they are excited to learn and they will excel. Isn't that what it's all about? I want my students to love math and apply it in their lives seamlessly because it is so natural for them to do so!
