Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day ready to learn, and determined to succeed. However, many of them are unable to bring in their own supplies, so it is up to me to make sure that they have what they need to learn. As their teacher, I want to be able to provide them with all the tools they need to succeed.

I am a second grade teacher in a Title I funded public school on Staten Island.

I teach a 12:1:1 class with 12 students that have challenges ranging from learning disabilities to speech and language impairments and autism. They struggle to keep up with the Common Core Curriculum and need a lot of support. As their teacher, it is my job to do everything possible to make the curriculum accessible to them.

My Project

Most of my students are visual learners. New printer ink cartridges along with paper would help to print pictures which will make their learning more realistic and help develop their language skills and vocabulary. The ink would help me to print the students stories and work to display in our classroom for others to see and enjoy.

This would help my students to become more creative with their writing and motivate them to want to write more.

They love to see their work displayed in color! With your donations of paper and ink, you are helping students bring color to their world academically and socially.
