My Students
I have a very diverse class with children from the ages of 5-7. They are sweet, intelligent children that are eager to learn and please me.
Our school has a 70% poverty level, but we have a very involved parent base that want the best for their children.
I have taught at Union Elementary for 21 years. My first year was spent as a Federal Programs assistant. The following two years were in kindergarten and the last 18 have been in the first grade.
Our school is adding STEM this year, so we will need extra educational supplies to help us be successful.
My Project
First grade is the beginning of either a bright, successful life or one that is left behind. Reading is our #1 priority, so that every child has a chance of becoming successful! We spend most of our day reading some type of material. It may be in reading, language, or math, but knowing how to read is a must!! Please help my children become the best readers they can be. We also need an ink cartridge to help with printing worksheets to reinforce our skills. Being able to write helps us to remember. Thank you so much for your support.
