My Students
This year is a year that is new for everyone in the education world. No one has ever experienced what is going on in the world before. My students are entering a time and place in their lives that they'll probably remember forever. And I want that experience to be enjoyable and positively memorable.
Students that are learning remotely at home deserve to feel as much included as the students who are learning in person.
Being at home is obviously not the same as being at school and especially being in the gymnasium. I don't want those students who are trying to stay safe at home to feel left out. I want those students feel like they're immersed with the rest of the class while at home. They shouldn't have to sacrifice happiness and inclusiveness in order to feel safe.
As of now, all of my students are under the age of 6. They are at the critical ages of development both in mind and body. With all the uncertainty this pandemic has brought upon us, schools need to be the solid pillar of support and sanctuary for the students.
My Project
A good amount of my students are going to be learning from their homes. That would call for me to have to record real-time lessons and upload it to the online class. The GoPro camera would be the perfect camera for the job because it specializes in recording physical activities. With its fisheye lens it can record the class or me at a wider angle. And GoPro is known to its durability to withstand a great amount of impact. So accidental drops and bumps won't cause great concerns.
The GoPro camera will not only provide higher resolution quality videos for students learning at home, but also gives me the ability to record in different angles/views that best suits the lesson of the day.
The accessories that I'm coupling with the camera will allow me to stand it on a tripod and place it in a location that the students can see their classmates. Or I can wear the camera on my chest or head to give a 1st person point of view so students can feel they're actually included in the activity. The possibilities for making fun-filled videos for the students are endless with the GoPro and its accessories.
