Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade kiddos are a diverse and energetic community of learners. We enjoy reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, technology, 100-mile club, recess and field trips. We love learning together!

We are curious and find wonder in our world every day.

Our class is kind. We are good friends. We share and respect each other. School is special when you are surrounded by others who accept you. We believe everyone should follow the Golden Rule, "Treat others the way you want to be treated."

My Project

In the primary classroom, technology allows students the opportunity to actively engage in their learning. It is essential students understand digital literacy and citizenship by developing lifelong skills such as responsibility, safety and ethical use of technology at home, in school and in society. The Google Certified Educator training addresses these issues. The workshop explores the instructional tools necessary to teach current technology skills using Google applications: GSuite, Google Drive, Google Classroom, Hangouts, Tasks, and Keep to enhance student learning in all subject areas.

The three days workshop will develop my technology skills and competency necessary to implement Google applications by invigorating my classroom’s overall digital learning environment.

As an educator, digital proficiency is necessary to teach critical technology skills to all students. The Google Certified Educator training will inspire me to learn new ways to teach 21st Century skills using Google applications. In addition, with the opportunity for Level I Google Certification, I have the ability to collaborate, support and assist other educators and their students in my district and school site with innovative ways to use technology effectively.
